Brief Biography
Baroness Elena Edgar attended her first SCA event at West Kingdom Beltaine in 1995, having never sewn so much as a single stitch. She has tried her hand at many pursuits, including heavy fighting, calligraphy & illumination, hat making, costuming, bardic arts, period dance, and music, but found that costuming is where her true talent lies. Upon joining she quickly learned to sew and pattern to feed her passion for late-period finery. She has held offices, including Seneschal of the almost-now-defunct Shire of Esfenn and Minister of the Saltatorus Nebulorum, and freely gives of her time teaching sewing, patterning and costuming. Her greatest passion lies in late 16th Century costuming, and she excels at creating clothing for both men and women who wish to portray the wealthiest, most noble members of society.
She is now also known as Lady Kildare, having met and married Cathyn Fitzgerald, Earl Kildare in the most brilliant masterstroke of her entire life.
She is a founding member of the Chateau Rose, a company formed in the Winter of 2010 to embody all the things that are enjoyable about the SCA.
Persona
Lady Elena Edgar is a courtier to the Queen of England, Elizabeth. She was married at a young age but tragically widowed a mere three years later leaving her independently wealthy as the Crown graciously and generously chose to settle her late husband's estates and other property upon her. She spent her time at court and away from court as a good courtier should - gambling, drinking, flirting, and protecting the interests of her Sovereign through the judicious use of diplomacy and her dubious charms. The Queen later found a match with the Earl Kildare to be pleasing and agreeable for her loyal courtier, and readily agreed to this marriage.
