Genevieve de Vendome

Persona
Like many people in the West Kingdom, Genevieve has no persona per se. She does, however, focus on the 16th and 14th centuries, and tries to stick to those in terms of her costume and encampment.
SCA
Genevieve de Vendome is a longtime resident of the Shire of Esfenn in the Principality of the Mists.
Genevieve joined the SCA as a teenager in 1976. She was one of the original members of the (now Barony of the) Westermark. Genevieve was a frequent actor in the plays of Gerhardt von Nordflammen; those years forever shaped her SCA character and outlook. At 12th Night 1987 she was elevated to the Order of the Laurel for costuming, and served as Princess of the Mists that same year.
After an almost 10 year hiatus in the 1990's, Genevieve returned to the SCA in January of 1999 and has never looked back. Much of her time has been spent researching 16th C culture, and exploring ways to incorporate that culture into the SCA experiance. At Mists Fall Coronet in 2001, Genevieve hosted the first 16th C "Salon", or playspace, which offered dance, games, and discussion in a 16th C style. Other 16th C salons have taken place in subsequent years.
Genevieve's newest interest is the 14th C and its culture. Her research continues in this area, but she has decided that she is more interested in the 14th C as represented by Boccaccio and his Decameron, and Chaucer and his Tales, than the 14th C of Froissart and his war histories, because that just seems to be a lot more fun. :-)
Genevieve has a continuing interest in the culture of the SCA and the West Kingdom, and how historical culture and practices can be integrated into the way we play our game, as well as how our game and our environment constrain this integration.
At events you are most likely to find Genevieve camping with her lord, Duke Steingrim Stallari. Occasionally, she may also be found playing with the West Kingdom equestrians with her horse Brandee (aka The Paint Princess).

Household and Apprentices
As Steingrim's lady, Genevieve is a member of Stallarifannsk. Genevieve is honored and lucky to have a number of lovely and talented apprentices: Katherine de Langelei, Johanna Ludwiger von Hertesbergk, Elena Edgar, Marguerite du Royon, Gillian Trenowyth, and Roxelana. Genevieve herself was apprenticed to Juana Isabella de Montoya y Ramiriez, so she and her apprentices are part of a large and prospering family tree.
