Gold Beach, OR
Site Description
A large set of fields, adjacent to a cold water stream. There is no potable water natively on site. A large drinking water truck is usually provided as part of the site fees.
The site is very near the very scenic coast, as part of a valley that connects directly to the sea. As such, scenic and wet clouds/fog/mists are commonly encountered rolling in and out from the sea. Outright rain is uncommon in July, but everything in your camp should be wet weather prepared as heavy soaking dew, wet fogs are very common. The adjacent hills and forests provide breathtaking views.
Nearby the vacation town of Gold Beach, amenities like restaurants and grocery stores are nearby.
Site Directions
From the Mists: make your best way to Gold Beach, Oregon (typically hwy 101 north of San Francisco and beyond), Head North out of Gold Beach on Hwy 101 for aprox 11 miles to milepost 317.
Turn right on to Ophir Rd.
Turn left on Euchre Rd.
Follow road to site.
Note: the site is actually about 11 north of Gold Beach itself, and you must cross a big bridge (no toll) to get to the section of the 101 beyond the town of Gold Beach proper. There are no closer amenities than Gold Beach, so you might want to stock up on the way into the site itself.
