Syele von der Rosen
Syele von der Rosen is an active member of the Society living within the Barony of the Westermark. She is the Lady of House Verthandi, which she presides over along with her consort, Sir Roric Skogan. Originally from the Kingdom of Atenveldt, she relocated some time ago and is completely enjoying her citizenship in the Kingdom of the West. Roric and Syele reigned over the Principality of the Mists as the 60th Coronet of that fair land in AS XLIII, and to this day she enjoys a penchant for collecting tiaras.
Syele is a well known bard, having served as Bard of the West and Bard of the Sun of Atenveldt. It was during her tenure as bard to King Uther that she was given the moniker 'Songbird', which she treasures to this day. She is often found drinking and singing around campfires in this and many other Kingdoms, and takes great joy in composing songs and poems to document our history in this, our Current Middle Ages.

Persona Info
Syele is an innkeeper's daughter from Nuremberg, born around 1475. Her family manages the Rosen, from which she gets her name. From a young age, she learned the basic skills of the family trade - cooking, cleaning, sewing; she also had quite an aptitude for song, and often earned an extra coin by singing for the patrons. In her teenage years a recruiting Hauptmann came to visit the inn, and off went Syele at his side to sing the songs of the Landsknecht campaign trail; her noble Hauptmann died valiantly (and possibly drunk) on the field, leaving Syele to make her own way. Eventually, she'll make it back to Nuremberg to take over her beloved family business…maybe.
For now, she spends her days in a land far from her home called the West, the lady of a Viking jarl. How, you might ask, did a German innkeeper's daughter become the lady of a Norse household? Simple. She liked the jewelry.
Interests and Studies
Late period Germany (1480s and on) is her original passion, but currently Syele's interests are devoted to the Viking age. That being said, she is often intrigued by various and sundry other shiny objects, and has been known to foray to Italy, India, England, and many other places in her search for fine costuming.
Syele also greatly enjoys the bardic arts, and is presently composing several original works as well as attempting to expand her knowledge and understanding of period music and song.
